Mission and Outreach

Here at Meadowbrook Congregational Church, sharing the good news of God’s grace is an important part of our mission. Our church members contribute directly to a Benevolence fund to assist local, national, and international organizations and projects. Some of the organizations receiving assistance include:

  • American Red Cross
  • Church of the Holy Family Homeless Shelter
  • Compassion International
  • Gleaner’s Food Bank
  • Northville and Novi Youth Assistance programs
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • The Salvation Army
  • Wycliffe Bible

We also have hands-on ministry projects where time and service are donated. These projects are unique because they include our Sunday School and Pilgrim Fellowship youth and give back directly to our local community. In 2016, these projects included:

  • Packing pre-made meals for Kids Against Hunger. In about two hours we pack over 10,000 nutritious meals for Northville Civic Concern and national and international hunger relief agencies.
  • God’s Love in Our Love, a pay-it-forward ministry team. During one spring day we helped a shut-in with lawn work, welcomed neighbors with friendship gifts, and offer surprise acts of kindness to strangers.
  • Backpack drive for Novi School District
  • Providing Christmas gifts to girls at the Central Detroit Community of Hope Transitional Living Home. These gifts helped young women in preparation for starting their own homes and households after leaving foster care.
  • Novi Emergency Food Pantry
  • Northville Civic Concern
  • American Red Cross Blood Drive
  • Sunday School blanket making for Mott’s Children’s Hospital
  • Serving meals at the Church of the Holy Family Temporary Homeless Shelter and providing clothing for their clothes closet.
  • Rebuilding homes in New Orleans ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. A group of dedicated members have worked with the St. Bernard Project to help rebuild more than 525 homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
