Sermon: "The Meaning of Work"
Frank Maynard

A Canticle of Peace

And it shall come to pass in the latter day
That the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountain,
And many shall go and say:

Come ye and let us go into the house of the Lord.
And He will teach us His way, and we will walk in His paths.
And He shall judge and He shall judge between the nations.
And shall reprove many nations.

And they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
Nation shall not lift sword against nation.
Neither shall they learn war anymore,
Come ye, let us walk in the light of the Lord -- Come.

About Meadowbrook
  • Our Mission and Shared Vision
  • Worship Services: We hold services on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM and at various special times throughout the liturgical year.
  • Christian Education: Classes are provided for kindergarten through high school during worship, and adult Christian education classes are held evenings throughout the year.
  • Music: Music is what sets Meadowbrook apart. Thanks to a generous bequest, we have acquired a beautiful new organ, and we received a grand piano a few years ago. Both grace our Chancel and are played for every worship. The Chancel Choir accompanies worship services, frequently with visiting musicians. The three Children's Choirs perform several times a year as well.
  • Fellowship: Every Sunday following worship, members and friends meet for coffee and fellowship. Service and social groups within the Church meet at other times as well.
  • Community Involvement: We are active in numerous community organizations and programs including COTS, Habitat for Humanity and CROP. We also hold a Charter from the Boy Scouts of America for Novi's Cub Scout Pack 54 which serves Novi Woods Elementary School.

These arrangements have been made by Kay Crowell and the proceeds from each sale goes to the Flower Fund.

  • THE FLOWER FUND is in need of donations. The beautiful flowers that grace our meeting house are made possible by contributions from our members and friends through the Board of Deacons. As part of the program, the church staff serve as the eyes and ears to observe and report any situation involving children that might be dangerous, suspicious or questionable as it involves their safety. The signs we have in the windows are to indicate to the children that Meadowbrook is safe place for them to come if they feel threatened in any way.

The color of the border around this page is based on the Liturgical Color for the current season of the liturgical year. Green is the color of Ordinary Time, or Time of the Church, the period after Pentecost up until Advent in the fall.
